Woman charged with DWI; almost hits trooper’s car

ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) — An Alden woman is facing drunk driving charges after state police say she almost struck a trooper’s car.

Yvonne Bukowski, 43, is charged with Aggravated DWI, Failure to keep right and Consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle on a public highway.

State Police say Bukowski was traveling south on Wende Road in Alden just after midnight Wednesday when she crossed the double yellow line while coming around a curve. A trooper heading toward her was able to swerve to avoid the vehicle. That trooper pulled over Bukowski’s car a short time on Old Wende Road.

State Police say Bukowski’s blood alcohol concentration was .27%, more than three times the legal limit. She has two prior convictions for Aggravated DWI, according to police.

She is set to appear in Town of Alden Court on a later date.
