Frewsburg native and former Bills star Shane Conlan, a star linebacker at Penn State in the 1980’s, joined the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame today.

Conlan led the Nittany Lions to the 1986 National Championship, then promptly returned to Western New York as the Bills’ first-round draft pick in 1987. During his pro career, Conlan was a three-time All-Pro, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, and played a major role in three of Buffalo’s four straight Super Bowl appearances.

He is joined in the Class of 2014 by another former Bills players, cornerback Leonard Smith, who played college football at McNeese State.
