BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Tom Golisano a familiar face to Buffalo Sabres fans and could become familiar to Bills fans too. The Toronto Sun is reporting former Sabres owner Tom Golisano wants to bid on the Bills and seek immediate NFL per-approval.
The sale process is moving right along, the team hired legal and financial advisors. They’ll be in touch with potential buyers within a month.
The Bills hired Morgan Stanley as financial advisor, and Proskauer Rose to head up the legal part of the sale. Both these firms have extensive experience, in handling this type of major transaction.
Proskauer Rose was also involved with the sale of the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and Washington Nationals, among others. What happens now, is Morgan Stanley will determine a value for the franchise, and they’ll start reaching out to potential buyers within the next 30 days.
It appears Golisano, the man worth a reported $1.9 billion, could be one of those potential buyers. The Sun reports he has long said if he ever becomes owner of the Bills, he would keep the team in Buffalo.
The Buffalo News reported earlier this month that Golisano was spotted having dinner in Buffalo with Bills President and CEO Russ Brandon.
