Leaders pour money into road repairs

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – If you drive around Erie County, you know the roads here took a beating over the winter. Local leaders are pouring more money into fixing the problem spots.

The legislature unanimously voted to spend an additional $5 million on road repairs. That’s on top of the $27 million that was approved last month.  The money will allow for several more repairs that residents are demanding. The details are still being worked out on which roads will be repaved.

In February, News 4 learned car shops are having an uptick in business because of damage from potholes.

Officials at the New York State DOT called it one of the worst pothole seasons ever.
