Niagara Power Vista slated for $13 million makeover

The Niagara Power Vista visitor center is set for a major upgrade.

The New York Power Authority is sprucing up visitor centers in New York state including the visitors center at the Niagara Power Project in Lewiston which will see a  $13 million face lift.

The power authority board gave thumbs up to a contract with a Buffalo Company, Hadley Exhibits, to make upgrades which will include multimedia exhibits and large touch screens, even some exhibits connected to the Internet.

The power plant visitor centers in Massena and North Blenheim will also be upgraded.

The three visitor centers drew nearly 200,000 visitors last year.  The centers are the setting for many community special events such as wildlife festivals, antique car shows and host a wide range of civic activities. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
