Docks at Canalside ready for boating season

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Many people are ready for the start of boating season, and so are the docks at Buffalo’s Canalside.

All boaters have to do is pull up and a dock hand will be there to greet them and tie up the boat.
People are allowed to stay at the docks as long as they want. The docks charge boaters in four hour segments.

There are also plenty of activities to enjoy at Canalside.

Said dock manager David Pruett, “We have the kayaks open, we have the water bikes that are open, The Spirit of Buffalo is here, the water taxi is up and running, Clinton’s Dish just opened.”

Workers say they had a lot to do to get ready for boating season including repairing broken boards and removing Zebra Mussels. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
