Rowing club hosts Fontana All City Regatta

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The weather is picture perfect for a tradition on Buffalo’s waterfront Monday.  The West Side Rowing Club hosted its annual Fontana All City Regatta. High school teams from across the region compete in this boat race.

West Side Rowing Club President Rich Schaus said, “Rowing is a great team sport. They learn to work together, no one individual is a star on the team. Everybody has to work together on their timing, conditioning, and only by working together as a crew do you succeed.”

The regatta is named after Charlie Fontana, who was a coach and rower for more than 50 years at the rowing club.
