Crash leaves motorcyclist pinned under guardrail

NAPOLI, N.Y. (WIVB) – A motorcyclist suffered a serious leg injury Monday night, after a crash involving a deer. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened in the Town of Napoli around 10:10 p.m.

Harry Blauvelt, 67, was traveling west on Dutch Hill Road when a deer jumped into the roadway, causing Blauvelt to lose control of his bike. His motorcycle slid through the intersection at Pigeon Valley Road and he became pinned under a guardrail.

Responders removed him from under the guardrail and transported him to Erie County Medical Center by StarFlight.
