BUFFALO, N.Y.(WIVB) – The Buffalo Bisons are inviting ticket-holders to bring their dogs to Coca-Cola Field for the annual ‘Dog Day at the Ballpark’ on Saturday, May 31.
Gates open at Noon for an afternoon filled with baseball and dog-related activities. Dogs and their owners are invited to participate in a pregame parade that steps off at 12:15 p.m. It will be quite a scene as hundreds of dogs round the bases.
Dachshunds take center field for a lively wiener-dog race during the seventh inning stretch. While the dachshunds are doing their thing, fans will have the chance to look over the dog-related gift basket auction. All dogs and their owners also will be able to meet new friends in the tent behind the right center wall.
The Bisons meet the Syracuse Chiefs Saturday at 1:05 p.m. The Dog Day game is sponsored by Buffalo-based Milk-Bone. The company is providing dog treats for dogs at the game. It is also donating one box of dog biscuits for every dog in attendance to the non-profit organization Canine Assistants, which trains service dogs to help individuals with special needs.
