Florida man charged in crash that killed WNY native

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (WIVB) – A Florida man now faces charges for a crash that killed a Western New York native.

Leanne Hall, 16, died last August in Fort Lauderdale when the pick-up truck she was riding in slammed into a tree. According to the Sun Sentinal newspaper, the driver of that truck, 20-year-old Chase Depastino, is now charged with vehicular homicide.

Investigators believe he was speeding and may have been drinking before the crash.

Hall attended Kenmore East High School.
