Lawson, Branch absent from OTA’s

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – Only two players missed the Bills’ first practice in Organized Team Activities today, with defensive linemen Manny Lawson and Alan Branch both skipping the voluntary session.

Lawson, who started at outside linebacker, is shifting to defensive end in the new scheme. Both he and Branch played major roles in the defense last season.

“I haven’t seen either of those guys. No idea,” said head coach Doug Marrone. “I’ve said it before. I try to concentrate on…there are a lot of other guys here that I need to concentrate on.”

Lawson’s agent told News 4 Sports Director Steve Vesey in an email Wednesday night, “No rift. Everything is fine.”

OTA’s are voluntary for NFL players. The first mandatory workouts on the schedule will be the team’s three-day mini-camp in mid-June.
