BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The man arrested in a cellphone video that sparked claims of police brutality pleaded guilty Wednesday to reduced charges.
John Willet pleaded guilty to misdemeanor heroin possession. He is seen in a video that appears to show a Buffalo Police officer assaulting him while he was handcuffed on the ground.
That officer is now facing charges. You can find more details on that story here.
Willet faces up to a year in jail or three years probation when he is sentenced July 20 on the drug charge.
He also pleaded guilty to driving without a license from an incident in December.
