Man calls police station after fleeing troopers

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say a man leapt out of his vehicle before jumping over a fence to flee troopers in pursuit.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers stopped Darien Foreman of Niagara Falls on I-190 for a traffic infraction. But troopers say the 36-year-old refused to comply with their orders and drove away.

Foreman allegedly leapt out of his vehicle then jumped over a fence behind apartments on 61st Street. Police were unable to locate him, but say Foreman called the station and was told he should come in to discuss it.

On Memorial Day, Foreman turned himself in, and after discussing the incident, was charged with third degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, second degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, reckless driving and several vehicle and traffic infractions.

He is due back in court at a later date. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
