OLEAN, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man who was convicted of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl will spend the next nine months behind bars for failing to register as a sex offender.

Darryl Myers was sentenced Tuesday to failing to register. Between July and August 2013 in Cattaraugus County, the 42-year-old failed to register with the NYS Sex Offender Registry.

In 2001, Myers was convicted of first degree sexual abuse. He served six years in state prison.

He will now serve nine months in the Cattaraugus County Jail.
