Police arrest suspect who allegedly broke into consignment shop

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – It didn’t take long for Jamestown Police to catch up to the suspected burglar who broke into the Kind Thrifter Consignment Store.

Detectives say 20-year-old Steven Becker broke a window of the store on East Fifth Street to gain access around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. Once inside, he allegedly stole several items.

Becker was located around 9 a.m. on Thursday at his home in Falconer, where he was taken into custody. Police say they recovered most of the property that was taken.

Becker is currently in city jail awaiting arraignment on a charge of third degree burglary.
