BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The deadline to register to vote in the federal primary election in June is Friday, May 30. You may register using New York State’s automated system.

Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Office outlines the steps involved in applying to register to vote online using http://dmv.ny.gov. A valid New York State driver’s license or identification card is necessary to establish a MyDMV account. MyDMV requires users to create a secure online account validated through personal information such as date of birth, social security number, address and license document number.

In a statement released by the governor’s office, Governor Cuomo encourages all New Yorkers to “double-check their registration forms to make sure they can cast their ballots in federal primary elections this June.”

More information about online registrations is available at: http://www.governor.ny.gov/press/08272012online-voter-registration.
