Heroin found after raid, woman arrested

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Jamestown woman is under arrest after police say they found heroin during a raid on a home, two vehicles and two storage units on Friday.

Around 9 a.m., Jamestown Police searched a home on Willard Street, two vehicles on Barrows Street, and two storage units in the Town of Ellicott. Officers say they found more than 29 grams of uncut heroin, which is worth around $7,200 and equates to around 600 doses or 60 bundles, as well as packaging materials, scales and other drug paraphernalia.

Carmen Lopez, 20, was taken into custody and charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. She is currently being held in the city jail pending arraignment.

Authorities say more charges are expected as the investigation continues.
