ATV flips over, throwing woman and grandson

RIDGEWAY, N.Y. (WIVB) – A woman and her grandson escaped an ATV accident without serious injuries Sunday evening.

Emergency responders were called to Mill Road, in the Town of Ridgeway. The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office said 57-year-old Debra Miller was operating the vehicle on her own property, with her 3-year-old grandson on board, when she rode up an incline and the machine flipped backwards.

Miller’s grandson was thrown of the machine and was not hurt. Miller was pinned underneath the vehicle. They were not wearing helmets.

Mercy Flight transported Miller to Erie County Medical Center where she was treated and released.

The incident is being investigated.
