Bear spotted lurking in Lancaster

LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) – Lancaster Police say they have confirmed that there is a black bear prowling in the town.

Police received several reports of a black bear in the area of the Fox Valley Country Club on Genesee Street, Monday evening. People are encouraged to keep pets and kids indoors if they spot a bear.

In a picture released by police, a black bear can be seen eating out of a bird feeder.

Over the weekend a black bear was spotted in West Seneca and schools in Alden took precautions after a bear was sighted on Saturday.
