Buffalo-Niagara National Guard team wins match

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. (AP) — An Air National Guard team from the Buffalo-Niagara region has won the New York National Guard’s annual sharpshooting match for the fifth year in a row.

The team from the Air National Guard’s Niagara Falls-based 107th Airlift Wing won The Adjutant General Match held this past weekend at Camp Smith Training Site in Westchester County, New York.

The winning team consists of Senior Master Sgt. Edward Stefik of Lewiston; Sgt. Ryan Mang of Niagara Falls; Staff Sgt. Johnathen Wagner of Buffalo and Tech Sgt. Warren Jones of Rochester.

They were among 125 New York Army and Air National Guard members who competed in the annual shooting event. The competitors are tested in their ability to fire the M-9 pistol, the M-4 carbine and the M-249 squad automatic weapon.
