Free concert series debuts in Buffalo Tuesday

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – In a city that loves its free outdoor summer concerts, add another concert series to the list.

The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus launches “Tunes in the Tent” on Tuesday, June 3, at noon on the corner of Ellicott and Virginia Streets.

The concerts will feature musicians who live and work on and around the Medical Campus. It’s hoped the series will encourage networking among employees, local businesses and residents.

The lineup for June is scheduled to include The Observers on June 3rd, the Teresa Quinn Trio on June 10th, Patrick Lauerman Band on June 17th, and Mari McNeil on June 24th.

The free concerts will take place every Tuesday from June 3rd to August 26th from noon to 1 p.m. in National Grid Park at the corner of Ellicott and Virginia Streets which is across from the Hauptman-Woodward Institute.

It’s estimated that 12,000 people work on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus and more than a million patients and others pay visits to the campus each year. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
