Thousands celebrate during Pride Week

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Thousands came together over the weekend, to celebrate western New York’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

Pride Fest culminated with a parade down Elmwood Avenue, and then a festival at Canalside on Sunday. This is the 23rd year for the Pride Festival. Attractions at Canalside included plenty of food, live entertainment and even a dance tent.

Pride Center of Western New York Senior Director Jorien Brock said, “The Pride Festival has really just so much become a part of the festivals of summer that exist in Buffalo and that’s a wonderful place to be.”

News 4’s Ed Drantch served as emcee for Sunday’s activities.
