Official fights for position with BMHA

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – An official will be fighting Tuesday, to keep his position with the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority. Joe Mascia wants to stay on the ballot for the upcoming election for tenant commissioner.

Attorneys for the authority filed a restraining order last week, trying to block his run because Mascia pleaded guilty to violating election law during his unsuccessful run for the Assembly in 2012.

The authority says that’s a violation of his Oath of Office and he should be off the board. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
