Wilson voters push for dissolution

Village of Wilson voters ask for dissolution

WILSON, N.Y. (WIVB) – A group of Wilson taxpayers angered over high property taxes is pushing for a referendum to decide if the village should be dissolved.

At least 180 residents signed a petition, which is enough to consider the move. Wilson residents are upset about the 2014-15 budget which takes property taxes from $7.72 per $1,000 assessed value to $8.11.

The village board must pass a resolution setting a date for the referendum followed by a vote.
