CATTARAUGUS TERRITORY, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State and tribal governments will make history with an event to stop heroin and opioid addiction.
Wednesday, State Senator Catharine Young and the Seneca Nation of Indians are co-hosting a forum on addiction. It starts at 1 p.m. at the community center on the Cattaraugus Territory.
Several local leaders will be at the forum, along with panels of health, school and law enforcement experts. This is the last of 18 forums that have been held statewide by the senate’s task force to solicit input on the rise in the use of heroin and opioids.
This is the first time state and tribal governments have held an official joint effort to fight drug use.
