Woman sentenced for stealing from Reed’s Jewelers

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A former jewelry store worker who admits stealing from her employer is heading to jail.

Wednesday morning Erie County Court Judge Michael D’Amico sentenced Jocelyn Ramey to six-months in jail, plus restitution and probation. She pleaded guilty to grand larceny for taking nearly $10,000 worth of merchandise from Reed’s Jewelers in Amherst.

Her employer told the court how much stress the investigation put on their coworkers

“It’s our intention that we want to see Jocelyn penalized as much as she possibly can for the crimes she committed our family and our business, but more importantly our over 100 associates in Western New York,” Jeffrey Zimmer said.

Ramey apologized for her actions, saying, “To the employees at Reed’s as well as your families and friends, Mr. Zimmer I apologize, I’m sorry, I apologize, and hopefully we can move forward from this.”

Ramey agreed to repay Reed’s over the next two years for their losses.
