ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – Count Bills offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett in, for Sammy Watkins’s rapidly-growing fan club.
Hackett, entering his second season calling the plays in Buffalo, seemed genuinely giddy about the role Watkins could play in the team’s offense this year.
“Good players just naturally start getting the ball, whether you call a play for them or not,” said Hackett. “I think it just shows here in practice what we’ve done. It might not necessarily be his number, but EJ just naturally finds him. Throws it to him earlier, he goes up and catches it, it’s so exciting. Just even for practice, for me, I’m like, ‘Ooh, what’s he going to do next?'”
The Bills have one week of Organized Team Activities remaining, with practices Monday through Thursday next week. The following week, the team will holds its three-day mandatory minicamp.
