Dunkirk Airport set for major improvements

DUNKIRK, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Chautauqua County/Dunkirk airport is set to receive more than a million dollars in improvements.

Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced that the Department of Transportation has given the green light to $1,124,550 to develop a plan for future airport needs.

“Keeping Chautauqua County/Dunkirk Airport in top-notch shape is critical to attracting business and tourism to the region,” said Schumer.

The airport will soon start a repaving project as well as improved marking and drainage improvements.
