Feds okay Peace Bridge traffic plan

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Final approval has been given to reshape the Peace Bridge Plaza area, setting the stage for construction to begin in the fall.

The Federal Highway Administration has signed off on the $35 million project that will change entrance and exit ramps around the bridge. There will also be a pedestrian bridge built connecting the area to the shoreline.

Designs are being finalized and construction bids expected to be put out in July.

The project is not expected to be finished until 2017.
