Man and his passenger arrested after Thruway stop

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police arrested a man and his passenger on drug charges after stopping a vehicle on the NYS Thruway. on Sunday

Around 11 p.m., troopers say they saw Jeffrey Graham driving erratically while not wearing a seat belt. After stopping his vehicle, police say the 28-year-old Lackawanna man appeared to be intoxicated. His BAC was reportedly .16 percent.

His passenger, 23-year-old Chantel Smith of Buffalo, was also taken into custody after two grams of crack cocaine was found inside the vehicle.

Both are charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Graham was additionally charged with DWI and several traffic violations.
