FREWSBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say a drunk driver took out a mailbox and forced another vehicle off the road before being stopped by troopers.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, police were called about an erratic driver on Water Street in Frewsburg. Troopers caught up to James Kidder and initiated a traffic stop. Police say the 44-year-old failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of .26 percent, which is more than three times the legal limit.

Kidder was arrested for DWI. After being arraigned, he was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail.
