Wife’s 911 call leads to husband’s DWI charge

FINDLEY LAKE, N.Y. (WIVB) – A woman called 911 to say her husband had left their home in Findley Lake armed with a shotgun to confront a man in the area.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday and stopped Michael Vanevery. He surrendered to deputies without incident.

Investigators say the 29-year-old was highly intoxicated and has a prior DWI charge from 2011. His license is currently revoked because of that charge.

Vanevery was taken into custody on charges of felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, and refusing to take a breath test.
