BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Pedestrians in the Elmwood Village got a glimpse of first responders to a bee emergency on Monday.

The Elmwood Village Facebook page reports that a swarm of honeybees decided to move into one of the neighborhood’s hanging flower baskets at Elmwood near Bird Avenue.

Jim Bush from WNY Beekeepers responded with a crew in beekeeper suits to safely relocate the swarm to an area safer for making their honey.

The Elmwood Village has 87 hanging baskets lining Elmwood Avenue maintained by the Clean Streets manager, who is also in charge of the gardens at Bidwell and Potomac and Elmwood and North Street.
