High-tech twist for this year’s amateur golf championship

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Golfers in Western New York are getting ready for a big tournament next month.

This year’s Erie County Amateur Golf Championship will take place at Grover Cleveland Golf Course in Buffalo. The 36-hole tournament will feature the some of the most talented amateur golfers from Erie County.

And this year, there’s a new high-tech twist that will make it easier for fans to follow the action.

WNY PGA Executive Director Joe Bertino said, The scoring this year will be done through a company called Blue Golf, which will allow everyone to follow this event, much like you would follow a PGA tour event with live scoring, hole-by-hole updates. And we are sure that we will have a super field and another great outcome.”

The action all happens July 5th and 6th at Grover Cleveland Golf Course.
