Native WNY service member killed in crash to be laid to rest

SALAMANCA, N.Y. (WIVB) – A native WNY service member who was killed in a car accident in Ft. Lewis, Washington, will be laid to rest in Salamanca on Friday.

Spc. Kyle Mason, 23, was born in Buffalo and graduated from Salamanca High School in 2008. He attended Jamestown Community College before joining the Army. He served a tour of duty in Afghanistan and was preparing to be redeployed when he was killed in a car accident on June 1. He is survived by his wife, Lacey.

Calling hours for Spc. Mason are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday at O’Rourke & O’Rourke Funeral Home at 25 River Street in Salamanca.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at United Congregational Methodist Church at 134 Broad Street in Salamanca.
