Juneteenth festival takes place in MLK Park

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A high-energy parade kicked off the 39th annual “Juneteenth Festival” at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park Saturday.

The parade marched down Genesee Street, into the park for a festival that’s among the oldest of its kind.

The festival’s goal is to promote African American culture and heritage.  Visitors to the park can enjoy arts and entertainment, food and drinks, and a vendor market.

The festival will continue Sunday at MLK Park.
