Social media posts prompt patrols at school

WHEATFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) – Patrols were on hand at the Niagara Wheatfield schools on Monday after the superintendent says they discovered social media posts about some potential issues over the weekend.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Lewiston Police and State Police found there was no danger, but officers were on campus for the day to ensure safety.

Niagara Wheatfield Superintendent Lynn Fusco said, “Better to be safe than sorry, you know, when we do have, things that come to our attention, we investigate them thoroughly and we always involve our local police and make sure they investigate along with us.”

The superintendent is not revealing the nature of the posts or who is responsible for them.
