Teen turns challenges into positives for others

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Kody Omphalius is a true renaissance teen, and is being recognized in Monday’s Student Spotlight. The Hamburg High School and Erie 1 BOCES student has managed to turn several challenging experiences into positives to help others.

Kody raises money for diabetes charities. He also joined the Hamburg Junior Firefighters program as a way to honor his father who passed away a few years ago.

He’s now a probationary member at Armor Volunteer Fire Department and is working toward his EMT certificate.
