Man accused of DWI by drugs had mailbox on hood

CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Clarence man was arrested late Monday evening and charged with DWI by drugs.

Following a complaint about a possible intoxicated driver, an Erie County Sheriff’s deputy found a vehicle pulled over on Roll Road in Clarence. Deputies say as they approached the car, a disoriented 41-year-old Arron Kasperek got out and said he thought he had hit something, but wasn’t sure. A deputy found a mailbox lying on the hood of Kasperek’s car.

Authorities say Kasperek failed all subsequent filed sobriety tests and admitted that he had smoked marijuana and taken some pain pills and alcohol during the day. He reportedly had a BAC of .06 percent and a blood sample was taken at ECMC.

He was charged with DWI by drugs and is scheduled to appear in Town of Clarence Court at a later date.
