Man pleads not guilty to charges in DWI crash that injured passenger

SALAMANCA, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man who allegedly was driving drunk when he fled police and crashed his car, seriously injuring his passenger, has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges.

Last July, Matthew Redeye allegedly fled police in the City of Salamanca. Authorities say his BAC was .11 percent when he crashed his car, causing serious injuries to his passenger.

The 30-year-old, who is presently incarcerated in the Cattaraugus County Jail after being extradited from Pennsylvania, pleaded not guilty to an indictment that charges him with second degree vehicular assault, first degree reckless endangerment, second degree assault, two counts of DWI, first degree aggravated unlicensed operation, second degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer and reckless driving. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
