Rt. 33 West to close nightly, closure of Rt. 33 East continue

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Nightly closures on Rt. 33 West inbound are scheduled to begin on Monday, June 23.

Currently, between Genesee Street and Harlem Road, there are nightly lane restrictions on Rt. 33 West between 6 p.m. through 6 a.m. But beginning Monday, all lanes will be closed between Genesee Street and Harlem Road from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. The closures are in effect from Monday through Friday.

All motorists will be directed to follow a detour. Motorists on I-90 will be directed to follow a detour beginning at Exit 52, Walden Avenue.

Meanwhile, the nightly closures on Rt. 33 East outbound continue Monday through Friday. All lanes are closed between Rt. 198 and Harlem Road from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. The work began June 1 and is expected to last another three weeks.
