First graders bring joy to Roswell Park

Roswell

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Students from Union East Elementary School in Cheektowaga brought happiness to Roswell Park Cancer Institute on Thursday.

As a part of a field trip, 175 first grade students visited the lobby of the hospital and sang songs to help cheer up patients and staff.

Jodi Stroud, who is one of the first grade teachers, organized the visit. Her son has spent the past five years being treated at Roswell for a rare form of leukemia. She knows how soothing the special music can be.
