CLARENDON, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man has been charged with DWI in a two-car crash in Orleans County on Tuesday that left four people with injuries.

State Police say William Kuyal and his passenger, Dudley Kuyal, were driving westbound on Powerline Road in Clarendon when he failed to stop at the intersection of Rt. 237 and collided with a vehicle driven by Julie Smith.

Julie and her passenger, Sofia Smith, suffered broken bones and were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. Dudley suffered multiple fractures and extensive injuries to his abdomen. He was taken to the hospital and is currently in guarded condition.

William was treated for broken ribs. He refused a chemical test, but the Orleans County DA was granted a blood test by Town of Clarendon Court.

Currently, William is facing charges of DWI, failure to yield and failing to stop at a stop sign. He may face additional charges once lab results are returned.
