BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A driver and his passenger are facing drug charges after a traffic stop on Military Road.

New York State Police stopped 48-year-old Sanford Hayes for failing to signal a turn Wednesday. Police say Hayes has a suspended license, and an interview revealed he was carrying 2.2 grams of cocaine.

Police say they searched the vehicle and found 26.8 grams of cocaine under the front seat, with two hydrocodone tablets.

Hayes and passenger Manuel N. Perez were both arrested. Perez, 46, was on probation for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.

They both were charged with a number of drug charges and were taken to the Buffalo lockup.
