Horses help children get through cancer

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – At an event Sunday in Western New York, children with cancer and their families learned how handle horses, including painting them, brushing them, and of course riding them.

The Stephen A Comunale Jr. Family Cancer Foundation along with Carly’s Club and Women and Children’s Hospital organized the event.

“It’s wonderful to be able to be on the end where we can see families coming that have reached that goal, that light at the end of the tunnel and were able to celebrate with them and partner with the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center to be able to offer them something that celebrates that achievement,” said Robin Hace, Carly’s Club Manager.

This was the event’s second year. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
