World Cup fans attend parties in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Hundreds of fans showed up to Canalside to watch the World Cup as U.S.A. takes on Portugal. People were invited to bring along a lawn chair and stop a food trucks down by the water. The viewing party at Canalside is one of a few places taking place in Buffalo Sunday.

Papa Jake’s and self-proclaimed Buffalo soccer bar Mes-Que were also having World Cup Parties.

News 4 talked to a lot of people, some were die-hard soccer lovers and other are fans every four years during the World Cup. They all say this soccer tournament is about coming together as a country and showing U.S.A. pride.

The game kicked off at 6:00 p.m. Canalside had two large screens set up for fans.
