CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say after rolling his vehicle on I-90 East in Clarence, a drunk driver fled on foot through the woods and a swampy area.
Troopers located the heavily damaged vehicle around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday and immediately began searching the area. A helicopter was brought in to assist.
Shortly after the search began, a disheveled man in soiled clothing was seen running near the Fox Valley Country Club on Genesee Street.
Officers stopped the man, identified as 25-year-old Joshua Bradley, and determined he had been driving the vehicle at the time of the crash and had fled the scene by crossing through the woods and a swampy area between I-90 and Genesee Street.
Bradley reportedly had a BAC of .10 percent.
He is charged with DWI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, switched license plates, and several vehicle and traffic law violations.
He is due back in court at a later date.
