Switching seats doesn’t stop driver from being arrested

SENECA NATION RESERVATION – Deputies say a driver and passenger scrambled to switch positions after seeing a patrol vehicle on Rt. 438 on the Seneca Nation Reservation.

Seneca Nation Marshals spotted the vehicle around 12:30 a.m. on Monday. The Erie County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene to assist.

Deputies determined the original driver, 19-year-old Nathan Crassi of Collins, was intoxicated. He refused to take a breathalyzer.

His vehicle was towed from the scene and he is due back in court at a later date.
