Auto salvage company buys 30 acres in Genesee County

BERGEN, N.Y. (WIVB) – A national company specializing in cars that have been declared a ‘total loss’ is buying 30 acres of land and setting up shop in Genesee County.

Insurance Auto Auctions has 160 locations across the country and is in the process of moving its Rochester location to Bergen. The company sells cars for scrap or parts and some that can be salvaged to return to the road.

The Genesee County Economic Development Corporation has given its stamp of approval for the firm to operate on property in the Appletree Acres Corporate Park.
