Former Ramada in Jamestown to become Doubletree by Hilton

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – The former Ramada in Jamestown will soon be a Doubletree by Hilton under a franchise agreement with Hamister Group, Inc.

The development group purchased the property on West 4th Street in late 2013, but due to the building’s disrepair, elected to close the hotel while they worked towards a plan for redevelopment.

Hamister Group says the franchise agreement with Doubletree by Hilton is an important step into turning the former Ramada into a 146-room, full-service hotel and restaurant with 4,000-square feet of banquet and meeting space.

Construction is expected to begin this fall and the hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2015. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
